Oh What A Year...My 2022 Gift Guide.... :)

On the 11th Day of December my true love gave to me… a blog post to finally open up about me! ( and the gifts you need this holiday szn)! Hey guys! Wow, how did I let a whole year go by without keeping all my wonderers updated on my so-called life? So much has happened in the past 340 days and there is so much to share with you! I admit that this has not been the greatest year I’ve had (hence the lack of writing) but I’ve learned a lot about myself, my children (they are toddlers now) and the gifts you are going to want to get for them this holiday season.

Summary of my 2022 (In A Nutshell)

This year started off with a slap on the face when I found out that both of my parents were diagnosed with cancer. My father was diagnosed with prostate cancer and my mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I know - not exactly what you want to hear around the holidays but alas, this has affected my year and my life in more ways than you can imagine. My father was diagnosed in September 2021, and spent the first quarter of the year in treatment. My mother was diagnosed in May with a poor prognosis. Fortunately, at this moment, both my parents are in remission (yay!) but this year will be one I will always look back on with a faint heart and frankly a middle finger. My mother has been my best friend my whole life - you can only imagine how dark my world has been since she was diagnosed. I know I come alive all the time on social media platforms but believe me, there were days I didn’t want to get out of bed. On the brighter side of my life, my twin toddlers turned two in June and everyday I ask myself the age old question, “Where has the time gone”? I sit here at my computer while they sleep and dream about all the things that they accomplished this year: their first words, their gestures, talking back and the list goes on. Now, I ask them questions and they formulate complete sentences as if I am speaking to little boys. It is both a blessing and a curse to see how quickly the days go by here… we moved from LA almost two years ago already! Nevertheless, we are having such a blast with them-watching them grow, laughing with them, and learning from them :) They are both voracious readers and love to sing their ABC’S. What a riot to have little mini me’s running around the house!
